Modest rubbing on the wrappers, and a little offsetting on rear wrap, a nice and tight near fine copy. Illustrated perfect bound wrappers. Blurb by Mrs. Helen Pusser comparing Stringer's story to that of her son's, Buford Pusser (of *Walking Tall* fame). Autobiography of Stringer, an African-American patrolman from Clarksdale, Mississippi, who made a pioneer run for Sheriff of Coahoma County in an attempt to ".clean up the corruption, brutality and other violations and pay back justice for the many deeds of crime that had taken place in the county. Charles lost. and 'was exiled in California'. But, in having the courage to run, he opened the door for those who followed him. and won." Very scarce.
