Chapters cover an introduction to clockmaking, clockmakers in Exeter, Barnstable, Bideford, Crediton, Plymouth and Totnes, "Adrian's clock" - a musical clock, now in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, which was made in Modbury over a period of seven years prior to 1705, and Devonshire clockmakers by towns.
