Benét collaborated with Douglas Moore to make this folk opera in 1938, Benét then turned the story into a screenplay with Dan Tothero, which was made into a film in 1941 titled *All That Money Can Buy* directed by William Dieterle, and starring Edward Arnold, Walter Huston, and James Craig.
