Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Using a framework of state-sponsored development, this book examines the Congress-led government's policies to consciously introduce change from above for dalits and tribals, to obtain their support during a period of identity assertion in the Hindi heartland. The major as…pects covered are the Bhopal Conference, 2002, land distribution and supplier diversity. Signed on the ffep in ink by the author (image). Chapters are arranged in four parts (images), with 20 (listed) tables, a postscript, glossary, bibliography, an 'about the author' section and glossary. Condition (dj): impressive understated jacket design by Pinaki De. Very tight binding - hence restricted internal images. Some edgewear and closed tears, plus what looks like a little ink staining on the inside - basically in a sound, intact state. Condition (book): silver gilt titles on both upper board and spine of black cloth - mild edgeware, slight fading in places. Internally - again sound, possible sunning but this may be due to the use of a particular type of sustainable paper. Rear endpaper and pastedown have some minor staining/marking. pp. xviii, 537/8vo. Please note that, depending on destination, we may request a payment to cover any extra shipping/postage charges. Proceeds to Amnesty International. Abe2541. Signed by Author.
