The stamped transmittal  envelope is included and addressed  in Fugate's hand to "Mr. John Pitcherale, McLean Hospital, Waverly, Mass." James Fugate aka James Barr (1922-1995) is the author of the classic work of gay writing, Quatrefoil: A Modern Novel, and was an activist in the gay rights movement. He was honorably discharged in 1952 when his identity as the author of Quatrefoil became public. John (Giovanni) P. Pitcherale (1919?-1998) was a friend of The Boston Symphony Orchestra.  He is also listed as one of the principal correspondents in The Papers of Eleanor Roosevelt. Condition: Mailing fold lines, otherwise very good condition. Signed by Author(s).
