No Slipcase. Both books have rough-cut. foredges and neat previous owner ink stamp at top of front flyleaf. Volume I has two small light spots on bottom ed…ge. Light toning on top and bottom edges, Volume II has light soiling on top edge. Total pages.in both books are 12334. Vol I dust jacket spine is sunned and tattering along edges with material missing at both spine ends. (Poor). Vol. II DJ also has sunned spine and light damage at spine ends, Folded map laid i near rear. Not sure of pertinence. Both are in mylar with pricing present on front DJ fold, Vol. I ($12.50).Books ship as 5 lbs. so S&H will be adjusted.

Both volumes have patterned red and black cloth over boards with red and black lettering to the spine. Toned paper dust jackets with black lettering. Dated 1961 on copyright and title pa…ge. Stated first American edition. Vol. 1- 690 pages. Vol. 2- 691-1334 pages. Both have strong, square bindings and bright cloth. A touch of sunning to the cloth at the foot of the spine. No bumps or rubbing. Pages are clean and free of toning. Endpapers and page edges have very light discoloration. Both dust jackets have been wrapped in mylar covers. Jackets are toned, but crisp and free of other marks. Small water stains to the foot of both spines. No tears, chips or creases. Overall good condition. Slipcase is heavy boards, covered in red, green, blue and black paper with multi-colored lettering. Overall rubbing and toning. COme chipping to the paper paper at the opening and at the foot of the slip case. The bottom edge at the front of the slipcase is cracked along the entire length.
