Dean's "Fluffidown" Top no. S106 is a color pictorial cloth sheet measuring 21" x 21" with a design by prodigious children's book illustrator, including do…zens of commissions for Dean's, Helen Grace Culverwell Marsh. It features small children and their dolls and toys in a nursery setting. "Fluffidown" material was a new fabric that Dean's introduced in 1914 that was soft and fluffy making it warm to the touch. The use of this new fabric was short lived due to the outbreak of WWI which made it impossible to continue to obtain the fabric. "Fluffidown" Tops were designed for cushion covers, table centers, work bags, chair backs, pillow tops, etc. These Tops were produced with several different border colors with the central image remaining the same regardless of the border color. The color of the border on the Top offered here is brown and the fabric sheet is without flaw other than mottling to the brown border and the presence of light fold lines. The condition of the fabric sheet is NEAR FINE. EXCEEDINGLY RARE. Marsh, Helen Grace Culverwell (illustrator).
