The book was published in the UK by Penguin 1941 under its original title. This 1984 reissue using the US title was published in hardcover and paperback editions with this being the paperback one. It includes a short introduction by Patricia Craig and Mary Codogan. Light reading creasing to the spine but otherwise the covers have only slight wear. Page edges a little browned. Previous owner's name in pen to the first page but the pages are otherwise unmarked. First printing of this edition.

His poking around raises suspicions of murder, and he becomes the prime suspect. Early reprint. With a four page biography of Sheringham preceding the first chapter. Ex-library with a stamp to the upper edge of the text block and scuffs to the lower spine where a sticker was apparently removed. Bumped and rubbed with wear and fraying at the edges.
