On the morning of June 6'th 1944, on a series of 5 beaches on the north coast of France, a massive invasion of Europe was begun by Allied soldiers. The beaches: Omaha, Utah, Juno Sword and Gold - were the sites for American and British landings planned and fueled in England. (Candian infantry was part of the Juno Beach landing - particularly at St. Aubin.) Book has 255 pages supplemented by 21 b/w (war files) photos. Two maps also assist the text. The endpapers are maps showing the invasion front. Cond: Green and rust dust jacket over red boards.Latter shows shelf wear - esp at tips and bottom edge.
