ALS in pen on the recto of a bifolium, to an unknown recipient. Written from Little Warwick Street; the date is Dec 21, 1782. Conway suggests that regiments heading for Jamaica should "if possible touch at Barbados". He expresses concern about the accommodation of troops, mentioning the Carolina Garrison. Signed: "H.S. Conway". Titled on the verso of the second leaf: "Dec 21, 1782 / Genl. Conway". Old stains and discoloration, quite severe, several horizontal folds, but intact. Conway had held the post of Commander-In-Chief of the Forces since March of 1782; he would be promoted to Field Marshall in October of 1793.
