Originally published in hard covers by The Random House in 1941. UK price label at the top right corner of the front cover - this has been crudely crossed out in black felt pen. Otherwise only light surface and edge wear to the covers. Insides of covers browned and the pages are browned but otherwise clean and unmarked. First printing of the Ballantine edition.
