Hardcover. Condition: Good. A pronouncing and etymological dictionary of names in geography, biography, mythology, history, ethnology, art, archaeology, fiction, etc. Rubbing on spine ends and bottom corner tips and back spine side edge glued, lettering on the spine mostly rubbed off. Marble end pages with chipping and a crease to second blank front end page, stain mark on back board top edge and cracking to back outer hinge edge, solid binding. Heavy book.

First Edition
First edition (hardback). 4to, viii, 1085pp. Half red crushed morocco, red cloth boards, gilt titling and raised bands to the spine. This copy was formerly in a reference library, with usual labels and stamps, and the binding is heavily rubbed and a little shaken. Only in good minus condition overall, but suitable as a reading or working copy.
