This is another paragraph Book Description: When a troubled model falls to her death from a snow-covered Mayfair balcony, it is assumed that she has committed suicide. However, her brother has his doubts, and calls in private investigator Cormoran Strike to look into the case. Strike is a war veteran - wounded both physically and psychologically - and his life is in disarray. The case gives him a financial lifeline, but it comes at a personal cost: the more he delves into the young model's complex world, the darker things get - and the closer he gets to terrible danger .A gripping, elegant mystery steeped in the atmosphere of London - from the hushed streets of Mayfair to the backstreet pubs of the East End to the bustle of Soho - The Cuckoo's Calling is a remarkable book. Introducing Cormoran Strike, this is a classic crime novel in the tradition of P. D. James and Ruth Rendell, and marks the beginning of a unique series of mysteries. Signed by Author(s).

Add to basketHardcover. Condition: As New. Dust Jacket Condition: As New. 1st Edition. The set comprises of The Cuckoos Calling, The Silkworm, Career of Evil, Lethal White, Troubled Blood, The Ink Black Heart and Running Grave. The first six books were meticulously acquired by Adam Houston 'the Harry Potter specialist' in 2023 whilst book 7 was acquired by myself directly from the original owner shortly after the book was released. Certain books in the Galbraith series are much harder to find and more valuable than others. The hardest to authentically signed copies to acquire are The Cuckoo's Calling, Lethal White and Troubled Blood. Just 250 signed copies of The Cuckoo's Calling were made available by Goldsboro Books, London, before the authors identity was known and all copies were sold for £16.99. Signed copies of Lethal White and Troubled Blood were only given out as competition prizes or for promotional purposes. Signed copies of The Silkworm and Career of Evil were available to purchase in local bookstores and copies of The Ink Black Heart and The Running Grave were sold by Waterstones booksellers. Cuckoo's Calling, published by Sphere in 2013 is the first book in the series and was published without it being known that Robert Galbraith was actually the pseudonym for J.K. Rowling therefore the first 250 copies to be signed do not have the J.K. Rowling Hologram. This copy is one of the 250 original copies to be signed, it comes with the Goldsboro Books receipt for £16.99 on the 15th July 2013. The Silkworm and Career of Evil are the second and third books to be published by Sphere in 2014 and 2015 respectively. The Silkworm has the J.K. Rowling hologram adjacent to the signature, whilst Career of Evil does not. This is because copies of Career of Evil signed at Foyles bookstore at that time did not have the holograms attached. The front cover of the dust jacket shows the Foyles 'signed first edition' sticker. Lethal White was the fourth book to be published by Sphere in 2018. Again with the hologram present and a note included written in 2022 from the original purchaser Ellen that details how she won the signed book in a competition at Robinson' Bookshop in Melbourne. Troubled Blood is the fifth book in the series to be published by Sphere in 2020. This copy was won by Megen Kippner after entering a Facebook competition with Hachette New Zealand on December 22nd 2020. The book comes with a screenshot of the winner being announced as well as a note from Hachette NZ to Megen congratulating her on winning the book. J.K. Rowling's hologram is attached on the adjacent page to the signature. The Ink Black Heart is the sixth book to be published by Sphere in 2022. This copy has the signed by the author sticker attached to the front of the dust jacket as well as the hologram attached to the adjacent page to the signature. It comes with the original receipt from Waterstones for £25 as well as a dispatch note dated 30th September 2022 and a hand written letter to Adam Houston from Jason Nunn the original purchaser of the book. Finally we have The Running Grave, the seventh book to be published by Sphere in 2023. This copy was bought by myself directly from the original purchaser Garry King who bought the book directly from Waterstones on the 13th October 2023. A copy of the receipt showing £25 paid is included with the book and we also see the same hologram we've seen for books 2, 4, 5 and 6 on the adjacent page to the signature. The series by Robert Galbraith, The Cormoran Strike books are fertile ground for forgers and many counterfeit copies with counterfeit holograms have appeared on the market. A fully authentic set of books is particularly rare to find in such stunning condition. This particular set comes fully authenticated by Adam Houston 'the Harry Potter specialist' who is the world's leading expert in authenticating Jo's signature. It comes with a full authentication package including a letter of authenticity and collector card. Signed by Author(s).
