Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 1st Edition. SIGNED Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. First edition, SIGNED by author on inner flyleaf. Dust Jacket is not price clipped; slight edge wear, Some foxing around edges. Published in 1981, Creation is an epic historical novel by Gore Vidal that provides a sweeping tour of the 5th century B.C. through the eyes of a Persian diplomat. The narrative follows Cyrus Spitama, the fictional grandson of the prophet Zoroaster, as he travels across the ancient world encountering the era's most influential philosophical and political figures. The story is framed as a memoir dictated by an elderly, blind Cyrus Spitama to his nephew Democritus in Athens around 445 B.C. Cyrus seeks to set the historical record straight, offering a Persian perspective that often clashes with the "heroic" Greek accounts of the Greco-Persian Wars.Signed by Author(s).
