Constructed around twenty master games, mostly before the first world war, and featuring players such as Capablanca, Janowski, Rubinstein, Mason and Duras amongst others, with extensive notes and references. Alphonse Goetz (1865-1934) was one of the strongest French chess players at the end of the 19th century.
