Not a book but a 12-inch, 33-1/3 rpm stereo vinyl record album, Columbia CS 8575, very-good-plus vinyl in a very-good cardboard jacket showing some ring wear. Produced by Teo Macero, Jacket notes by Mr. Brubeck, who writes that Desmond's composition "'Eleven Four' possesses a feeling of free flight. Paul Desmond's melodic line floats effortlessly over, in and around rhythmic groupings of 5-3-3. . . ." Four of the tracks "are themes from a ballet, 'Maiden In the Tower,' on which I am currently working," including 'Waltz Limp,' danced by the heroine, who has lost her shoe." Reduced from $15.
