It is unknown would number of the sixpenny novel series this is as the bottom of the spine paper is missing and the title does not appear on the list inside. The cover and the spine book list the title as simply "Gilbert Pollard" but the inside pages list the complete title name. Paper is very tanned with chips and tears on the exterior and corners.
