A collaboration between multimedia artist Bruce Conner and Michael McClure, the poet best known as one of the five readers at the San Francisco Six Gallery Reading in 1955, where Allen Ginsberg first performed Howl. This reading was referenced in Jack Kerouac's The Dharma Bums, and McClure inspired the character Pat McLear in Kerouac's Big Sur. The reading is largely credited as the birth of the Beat Generation, as well as the San Francisco Renaissance.
