In the last decade computers have also been introduced into Cypriot primary schools at a slow bu…t steady pace. While there have been many qualitative studies about using computers for improved language acquisition in many parts of the world, this does not hold true for Cyprus. This book is based on a qualitative study and takes a look at using computer assisted instruction in the primary ESL classroom in Cyprus. The primary focus of the study was to attempt to answer the questions many have asked: Can computer assisted instruction benefit primary school children in the ESL classroom, and if so to what extent An appropriate piece of software was found and then used for this research project in three different settings and evaluated accordingly.
