The works of Victor Hugo [ 1802 - 1885 ] the French Romantic writer and politician. The text is that of the Besançon Edition which was published between 1887 - 1909 by Little, Brown & Co of Boston. At the time the text of several of the works ( Les Mis, Notre Dame ) was the most complete yet published in English with previously omitted chapters & passages specialy translated for inclusion. 13500 grams.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Edition de Luxe. Volume two and three only. Blue cloth with gilt-stamped spine, topedges gilt. Cloth modestly soiled, spines darkened with ends chipped, else very good with Rose Voorhees Dodges' decorative bookplates on front pastedowns and William Eastlake's stamp on front endpapers. This is number 367 out of 500 numbered copies. Author William Eastlake's copy with his owner stamp on the front free endpaper.
