With biographical sketches of important players of the past and present. Written by Albert Ernest Knight, an English professional cricket player. His most important contribution to the game is considered to be this book which Sir Derek Birley, in his A Social History of English Cricket, described as "a masterpiece of its kind, stuffed full of learned observations in weighty prose".
