Contemp. full calf, raised bands, compartments in gilt, sl. worn maroon morocco label; leading hinge worn at head & particularly tail, gilt faded, corners bumped. Near contemporary signature of John Duncan, Bressa, on titlepage. Late inscription on verso of frontispiece & titlepage: 'The Minister's library belonging to the United Secession Congregation, Earlstown, No. 7, Nov. 1846'. A good copy in contemporary binding. Alston III 633; ESTC R25202, noting a variant with 'signification' in the title instead of 'significations' as here. First published in 1612 and one of the earliest examples of a concordance of the Bible in English. It was first revised by John Bagwell for the fourth edition [c. 1635].
