Condition: Fair. 1922. No Edition Remarks. 183 pages. No dust jacket. Green cloth. Black and white and colour illustrations throughout. Pages and illustrations have light tanning and foxing throughout. Top corner of half-title page clipped. Previous owner's inscriptions to front pastedown and endpaper. Slight cracking to gutters causing binding to be loose, however pages remain attached. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Slight crushing to spine ends.

He was well known as a parson-naturalist, giving up his curacy to write works about natural history. In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally a trifle worn; cloth is discoloured and the spine is cocked, with some bumping to the head and tail, as well as the extremities. The three works have been uniquely bound as one in contemporary cloth, gilt lettering to spine, pencil signature of contemporary owner on front paste down, pencil notes on free-end paper, some marginal trimming to the top of the col. plates in the third work which have a water mark to their extreme outer edge. Binding firm but one gathering is not fully aligned. Corners worn. 12mo.
