Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. 518 page hardcover, with tipped-in color plates (12) and color map endpapers. " A Catalog of the Gifts of Lessing J. Rosenwald to the Library of Congress, 1943 to 1975." Exterior is full creme colored textured cloth with illuminated letter design on front cover in blue and gold. The blue color field has light wearing away of the blue in a few areas - a minor impact, and spine is very lightly sun darkened. Good to very good condition. Interior is unmarked, tight and clean.

Some wear to corners with rubbing to back lower edge. Pages browning with age but clean and very readable. Introduction of the piece written in English but the Dance of Death is in Latin with woodcuts. Note: As the 1490 Dance of Death is here reproduced in facsimile, its technical description can be abridged to the following short form: It contains 26 leaves, in two gatherings of 8 leaves each. It has forty lines of type to a page, Its types, according to the numeration of K. Haebler's standard Typenrepertorium der Wiegendrucke, are 1;75G, 2;107G etc. and contains 24 woodcuts.

A mild, unused ex-library copy with two small, subtle blind-stamps, small stamped number at contents page, small area of lifted paper at rear paste-down, and small "Cranbrook Academy of Art Library" stamps to outer textblock edges. Slight evidence of sticker removal at foot of spine, mild soil. Still an attractive, very good copy in archival mylar.
