The items relate to educational materials, including a school desk for teaching music, and two music books, all designed by Jones for use in the classroom. Includes 23 letters sent between Jones, h…er patent lawyer, and several Southern music stores, relating to her efforts to patent and market her products. These included "a child's desk for use in teaching kindergarten music.has a piano keyboard painted on the desk with a back-rest or upright board containing pictures in colors of animals, birds and trees. It can be constructed to fold up into a small bundle or made rigid.I have used this desk for the past several years in actual teaching work and the results have exceeding my expectations." There is also an official patent certificate with a design of the desk, six photostatic plans of the desk completed in manuscript, and a color drawing of the backdrop for the desk. Another product that Jones attempted to patent is an educational music book, "Melody Land For Beginners," published in 1948 and included here. She also published "The Carrie Love Jones Music Kindergarten Course" in 1945, which is included, together with a promotional leaflet for the course. Overall in very good condition, some contents with creasing and/or light soiling.
