Condition: Good. Collection includes: 1. Section I Bay Shore - Islip Including all of School District No. 2 and that portion of School District No. 1 East of Brightwaters.Dec. 1931 and adopted by the town 1932 (with) tipped-on newspaper notices of the locations of the polling places; 19" x 24" approx. size; some red outlining and numbering for the district delineations; some darkening, edgewear and chipping to paper, archival tissue edge-repairs on back; good condition. (with) 2 additional copies of the same map for Sec. I, slightly smaller, 17" x 22" approx.; no additional markings on this copy except for one small penciled-in addition on one of these; somewhat less wear and repairs; good condition; 2. Section 2 Brentwood-Edgewood Dec. 1931 18" x 20" approx., this on photographic paper with a glossy finish to one side; couple of closed edge-tears, mended on back; very good condition. 3. Section 3. West Bay Shore - West Islip Dec. 1931 including portions of islip School Dists. Nos 1, 9 17" x 22" approx.; some wear and edge-chipping; good condition. 4. Section 4. East Islip - Oakdale January 1936, 18 3/4" x 22" overall size; in very good condition; (with) a slightly smaller version of this same map, with some red pencil markings of districts, more darkening to the paper, (with) a slightly enlarged version of the Sect. 4 map, much wear and edge-chipping with some loss at bottom of map (Great South Bay portion). 5. Section 10 Holbrook - Holtsville Norton Bros. Civil Engineers adopted 1937; 17" x 22" approx.; showing MacArthur Airport and areas to the town of Brookhaven border to north and east; ownership, street names, businesses; some edgewear and darkening, very good condition; many of the smaller versions of these maps have the town of Islip's "Amended Zoning Ordinances." listed on the backs; overall, good condition good real estate and development history and an interesting group of maps from the 1930s for this area of Long Island's south shore in Suffolk County.
