Image in sepia tones, nine young men with an older gentleman, presumably the manager; with baseball bats, old-style gloves (no webbing), catcher mask; a few of the players with a small pin or badge visible as part of the 'uniform'; about 8" x 10" size, affixed to a larger dark gray mount card, which has been trimmed to the image margins at left and right; with the photographer's blind stamp below the image as well as their rubber stamp on back; short pencil note on back regarding possible names of players (Dwyer?); some edge, tips wear and cracking to the mount; old staining to the photo, mostly marginal; the photograph clearly taken and an interesting baseball image from the earlier days of the sport.

Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Gelatin silver photograph. Image size is 6.75" x 4.5", on a 10" x 8" card. A (mostly) uniformed baseball team consisting of twelve men, with caps, belts, mitts, bats, and catcher's mask. Faint dampstain on verse, image is very near fine. Although unidentified on the images, a similar image reveals the names of those pictured: "James Mitchell - Captain", "Howard Keen - Manager" and "Hoblitzal - Umpire". The other players are mentioned by last name only: Finney, Akers, Boarman, Gilbert, Norris, Richardson, Coale, Akers (again), and Nock. A nice vintage image of a team in full regalia, reportedly this was a town team from the countryside surrounding Baltimore.
