This, the sixth and final installment of Herbert's award-winning Dune series, continues the story directly from Heretics of Dune (1984). Chapterhouse: Dune ends with a cliffhanger, and Herbert's death the following year left many plotlines unresolved, until his son Brian Herbert and author Kevin J. Anderson published two sequels, Hunters of Dune (2006) and Sandworms of Dune (2007), based partially on notes left.
