A very good book INSCRIBED on the front-endpaper, 'Dear Miss Oxenham/with loveand best wishes/from Elinor/Christmas 1953. In a very good unclipped dust wrapper with chipping and wear to the spine tips and corners and a stain to the foot of the spine and rear panel. Elinor Brent-Dyer and Elsie J. Oxenham were influential British authors known for their contributions to children's literature. Brent-Dyer is celebrated for creating the iconic "Chalet School" series, featuring a progressive boarding school's adventures. Her stories emphasised friendship, resilience, and the importance of education. Oxenham, on the other hand, is renowned for her "Abbey Girls" series, which centred around the lives of young women in a supportive community setting.
