Light Blue cloth cover with Black Lettering & Lines to spine. 200 Pages, 310g, 7 1/2" Tall. Some age darkening to pages,but in nice, clean condition. No inscriptions. Jacket has some edgewear, small edge tears & creasing. Also a piece missing at top of spine which removed nearly half the title. Another smaller bit (about 1/4") missing at side of spine (see photos). Clipped. ( Other Chalet School Hardbacks available, I'm happy to give a discount on 2 or more.) Hardcover. Condition: Fair. 1st Edition. First edition hardback, no dust wrapper. Book plate upon front free endpaper, awarded to Collen Taggart from St Mary Magdalene Sunday School 1955. 'Miss Colleen Taggart, Nimbin' written in red pen on next free endpaper. Collection of signatures on rear pastedown. Green boards bear signs of light use and light uniform discoloration. Head and tail of spine lightly bumped. Corners are thumbed. Covers bears the odd scuff and light scratch. Binding is tidy and neat. Pages bear the odd spot. General use and thumbing throughout. Otherwise in fair condition. *We always describe the faults of our books meticulously but they usually present better than they sound.

Publisher's green boards with black lettering to the spine. 200 pp. Boards exceptionally bright and clean. No inscriptions. Page edges tanned due to the poor quality of paper used. Overall a near fine copy. The near fine dustwrapper is priced 6s net to the inside flap (as called for) and is complete with minuscule creasing to the spine tips. A nice copy. A very good book INSCRIBED on the front-endpaper, 'Dear Miss Oxenham/with loveand best wishes/from Elinor/Christmas 1953. In a very good unclipped dust wrapper with chipping and wear to the spine tips and corners and a stain to the foot of the spine and rear panel. Elinor Brent-Dyer and Elsie J. Oxenham were influential British authors known for their contributions to children's literature. Brent-Dyer is celebrated for creating the iconic "Chalet School" series, featuring a progressive boarding school's adventures.
