Gray & Son's "Gray's Atlas of the United States." The 1879 atlas included 16 pages (eight leaves) of additional maps for Kansas subscribers to the atlas. These were region specific, ot…her than all of the sets including the downtown portion of Topeka, Kansas (Capital). Each of these maps were highly detailed showing the location and occupancy of most of the buildings in the town. At the time that this map was issued, Junction City was in the county of Davis. In 1889, Davis was changed to Geary County. There is a separate map published by Gray & Son showing the Central Portion of Junction City, that is currently available under a separate catalogue listing. In addition to the Central Portion of Manhattan, Kansas, there was published by Gray & Son, a larger Outline Plan of Manhattan. This latter map is not currently available from my holdings. Slight age toning along the edges, as well as along the fold line. Very scarce. Map will be shipped flat.

There is about an inch and a half of separation seen at each end of the fold, though not visible when lying flat. Very scarce. Map will be shipped flat.
