Condition: Good. Cattle estray documents from Kerr County, Texas in 1860. Legal document is written on blue lined paper and measures 8" x 12 ½". 3pp. Content on recto, except for docketing. Document has light toning and soiling, is fragile at folds with damage to a fold on page 3. Two 1/2" holes at top edge and minor critter dam…age along top and bottom edges. In these documents the cattle brand "OX" was advertised for estray and payments were made by S. B. Rees, R. H. Burney and J. S. Conner. Rees and Burney were members of pioneering families in Kerr County. The Burney family had been in Kerr County since its inception and the Rees family since 1852. The docket on verso reads "S. B. Rees Estraying one OX brand." The documents are signed by S. B. Rees, justice of the peace Charles Herst (?), R. H. Burney and J. S. Conner.
