Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Arthur Lynch. The Case Against Einstein. NY: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1933, 1st American edition, 1st printing, xxv, 275 pp. *** The author was an Australian who led quite a colorful life. He sees Einstein's Theory of Relativity as another of numerous revolutionary discoveries that on further examination turn out to be not so original. Einstein is simply the most recent, "a man who can curve our space from Euclidean to Lobatchewskian or Riemannian, fiddling with cryptic symbols . . ." Along with the book are eight (8) small paper slips with arcane mathematical symbols, equations, and commentary in some language other than English. There are lightly penciled, unobtrusive notations here and there that could be easily erased if desired, but I felt added to the book's history. There is some king of cryptic small monogram in the middle of the half title and title page *** Red cloth boards with light wear , clean with some discoloration upper corner of front cover, spine ends, a few small spots on covers. Spine is lightly sunned. Contents complete in solid binding. A bit of spotting on bottom of text block. VG condition. *** 8.75 inches tall by 6 inches.
