Nº 38 of 50 copies on Holland paper. 160 pp, (2 ll.). *** FIRST EDITION of this study of rubber; according to Luttringer's preface, Macedo Soares was asked to write this general work after he had published a work in Portuguese concentrating on Brazilian rubber. Here he discusses government intervention in the price of rubber and price fluctuations, the evolution of the rubber industry and its economic problems, various ways of raising rubber plants (pp. 33-47 are on Brazilian rubber), and its significance for car manufacturing and other industries.
