Boards. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. A Golden Ariel Book. Gold pictorial boards. Introduction and 16 colour plates. The covers have a few marks. The text is mostly very good; however, one plate has a small tear and crease to the margin and another whilst complete has a 4.5 inch tear. Reasonable as a reference copy, but not a collector's item.

Printed brown paper covered boards. 10 pp of text plus 24 good quality color plates depicting foxhunting, steeplechasing, racing, angling, shooting, gamebirds, waterfowl and shorebirds. Very good in very good wrapper.

Paperback. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Various (illustrator). A uncommon set of large sporting prints, in a decorative slipcase. With colour plates depicting fox-hunting, the work is edited and introduced by John Cadfryn Roberts and features prints by the such artists as Henry Alken, Robert Pollard and F.C. Turner. With descriptions parallel to each plate, the volume provides a noteworthy insight into the vestiges of the landed classes during an era in which such sports were deemed acceptable. In pictoral paper wraps with original unclipped dustwrapper and decorative slipcase. Externally very smart. Some light rubbing to the extremities only. The dustwrapper has a detached but present front-flyleaf, as well as a torn rear one, and is chipped and marked. The slipcase is age-toned and marked to boards, with wear and discoloration to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean throughout, aside from some offsetting to the endpapers. Near Fine. book.
