The 3rd Combat Engineer Regiment, located in Townsville, deployed with the initial force, witnessing first-hand the destruction of Dili, after the election. Supporting the 3rd Brigade by stabilizing the western border region. Maintaining the main supply route to the border forces, was the regiment's biggest task. The regiment worked closely with the locals, and developed lasting friendships. The Sappers returned to Australia knowing they had helped the East Timorese people. Size: Small Quarto. Book.
