First Edition, first impression.Signed by the author to the front endpaper, saying 'All good wishes from Moelwyn'.With pages of full-page illustrations of sculptures made by Merchant, which he made later on in his life after being inspired by close friend Barbara Hepworth.This is a lovely collection of poetry by William Moelwyn Merchant, which was his first volume of verse. Contents include 'Breaking the Code', 'Salamanca Stone', 'Ezra Pound at St Elizabeth's', and 'Miracles at Llanddewibrefi'.Moelwyn Merchant (1913-1997) was a Welsh novelist, academic, and Anglican priest. Merchant was Canon and Chancellor of Salisbury Cathedral before deciding to return to Wales. He wrote a series of fictionalised accounts of biblical stories, as well as other volumes of poetry such as 'No Dark Glass' (1979) and 'Confrontation of Angels' (1986).Collated, complete. In the publisher's original paper wraps, with an attached dust wrapper protecting the paper covers. Externally, very smart. Minimal edge wear to the extremities and the spine, with a few light marks to wraps. Author's ink inscription to front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
