Morgan in 1905. On the fly-leaf opposite is the "ghost" of J.P. Morgan's own bookplate. A magnificently printed, handsome book.

Text in black letter. Occasional red lettering. Larger woodcut initials throughout. A very clean copy in the main, a couple of leaves with some spotting or foxing else a lovely clean copy of this high quality imprint. Bound in a rather attractive full contemporary calf binding with blind tooled décor to the boards. Raised bands and blind lines to the spine. Lettered in gilt. Front hinge slightly weak with some cracking to the outer leather joint else sound and well attached. Some rubbing or wear to the edges or corners else a rather attractive period binding.
