Condition: Fair. No Edition Remarks. Unpaginated. Full brown leather with gilt titles to spine. Great Primer Demy 8vo. Gilt tooled turn-ins. Inscription dated 1893. Pages have slight foxing, tanning and minor thumbing. Slight gutter cracking. Hinges are cracked with exposed netting, however text block remains firm. Foxing and tanning more noticeable towards start and end of book and on text block edges. Previous owner's inscription to second page. Pages are water stained to edges, but the text is unaffected. A few liquid droplet marks to text block edges. Boards have some edge wear, with pronounced bumping and peeling to corners, while spine ends are crushed and rubbed. Rather scratched, rubbed and marked overall. Gilt is bright.

Leather. Condition: Very Good. No date but c. 1880. 'A Table of the moveable feasts for 34 years' shows dates from 1879 to 1912'. in the section of tables at the front. PRINT: Diamond 48 mo. PAGES: 469 with Index (HYMNS Ancient & Modern for use in the services of the Church. Complete edition) + The Hymn book: vi + 396 (Common Prayer book + Psalms). CONDITION: Minor wear to the black leather covers with bright gilt lettering on front and spines of each. Tight bindings. Bright gilt page edges. No inscriptions. Only one small area of browning in the top margin on page 65 in 'Morning Prayer'. This two volume set is in the original black leather covered slipcase which has served well to protect the books but which has suffered wear over nearly one and a half centuries. It is missing its carrying cord and has a little loss at the top of one side where the cord was once attached. Apart from the slipcse this is a very pleasing set. SIZE:9.5 x 8 cms. The thickness of the Book of Common Prayer is 1 cm & the Hymn book is 1.5 cm. WEIGHT: 138 grams unpackaged.
