Dust jacket edges trimmed fractionally shorter than boards; tape residue on front and rear flaps, spine heel chipped, mild soiling to white rear panel; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Dark olive boards, mild stains to boards with black adhesive residue along top and bottom board edges from removal of the company's plastic dj protector, slender and small patches of surface scuffing occur to boards and along joints, spine lettering quite faded. Moderate foxing upon top edge with mild foxing upon fore-edge; soiling and foxing upon preliminary and terminal leaves with tape residue also on front and rear endpapers; "Lowenstein's Lending Library" stamped in red upon front free endpaper but with no other such marks readily apparent after a quick perusal. Interior pages are clean. B. Lowenstein, Inc., aka Lowenstein's, was a Memphis, Tennessee department store and, as was common in the 1940s and 1950s, operated several lending libraries among its various store locations; hence the related ffep stamp and associated blemishes. THE BLONDE GODDESS is an uncommon book of Rosicrucian science fiction set in the near future in which Richards describes an unknown Himalayan utopian "lost" civilization that arises to offer solutions to the world's political problems.
