Paperback. Condition: Near Fine. No Jacket. Irene is mistaken for an escapee from an insane asylum, and with a headless nurse and a corpse that keeps moving, they might lock her up anyway. Reprint, first published in 1946. Spine sunned.

Original Cloth. Condition: Good. First Edition. Ex-library copy. The front free endpaper has been removed and there are tape marks to the front and rear endpapers with a number in pen on the front pastedown. The front and rear pastedowns also have a little surface damage where labels have been removed. The boards some surface staining and fading to the spine. There is a spine lean and the page edges are browned. The pages are slightly browned with quite heavy browning to the half-title page and the final page of the text. Small number to the title page and there are a few small stains through the book but the pages are otherwise generally unmarked. No jacket. First printing.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. 1st Edition. First UK edition. All in VG internal order. Light spotting to endpapers and block. Smart red cloth boards with black titling faded at top and bottom of spine commensurate with dust jacket loss. Unclipped d/j in protective cover features, as mentioned, a little loss, with other wear and creasing also evident. Still an appealing copy. 12mo. 192pp.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. A very nice example of the first printing of the first edition. Original cloth hardback in original dustwrapper. The dustwrapper is not price-clipped, showing the original 7s 6d price to the inside front flap. The dustwrapper is in attractive condition with wear and creasing to the edges, fading to the spine, and loss to the spine ends (see pictures). The book itself has a little bumping and fading to the spine ends (see pictures). Light browning to prelims. Internally clean and free of inscriptions. Binding sound and square. A very nice example of the first printing in the original dustwrapper.

Rubbing and edge-wear to jacket, with a chip to tail, but still vivid in colour. Moderate handling to covers; toning to edges and endpapers, and old owner's name to front endpaper. Otherwise clean, tight, and unmarked. Very neat -- a sound copy. 192pp.
