Condition: Fair. 1948. First Series Edition. 252 pages. Pictorial dust jacket over red cloth. Contains colour illustrated plates. Pages are moderately tanned with notable foxing to endpapers and text block edges. Minor dog-eared corners, with a few small nicks along text block edge. Former owner's inscription to half title page. Slight cracking to gutters with exposed netting. Binding remains firm. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with mild bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Faint tanning to spine and edges, with visible crushing to spine ends. Boards are subtly bowed. Light mottling to front and rear boards. Unclipped jacket has heavy surface wear, with some areas of loss, heavy tears, chips and creasing to spine, edges and corners. Lightly tanned and foxed.
Maroon hardback cloth cover. Condition: Very Good. Reprint. VG : in very good condition with rubbed dust jacket. Tape marks to jacket flaps. Page edges foxed. 190mm x 130mm (7" x 5"). 252pp. Colour plate with B/w drawings.
