Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. This offering is a set of three hard cover, First Edition mysteries written by one of the mystery genre's masters, Stanley Ellin. The three books are: The Bind, Very Old Money and House of Cards. I reviewed mysteries for Deadly Pleasures for about 10 years, went to many major mystery conventions for several years, have many, many signed and inscribed copies of hard cover books and paperbacks . . . and have gotten to the point where I must begin to downsize. My prices will not be dirt cheap but they will be reasonable, the books will not be ex-library copies, all be in very good + to near fine condition. All are First Edition with dust jackets and both books and dust jackets are in Very Good to Very good + condition. House of Cards was published by Random House in 1967, Very Old Money by Arbor House in 1985 and The Bind by Random House in 1970. They'd make a nice, and very affordable gift, to any Stanley Ellin aficionado . . . even if it's yourself. Thank you!

Manuscript / Paper Collectible
Draft script for an unproduced film. Stanley Ellin's screen adaptation of his 1970 novel. Film rights for Ellin's novel had been bought in 1969, prior to its publication, by producer Phil Waxman, wanting Robert Redford in the lead. It would not be made into a motion picture until 1979 when Richard C. Sarafian filmed a loosely based, comedic adaptation entitled "Sunburn," written by James Booth, John Daly, and Stephen Oliver and starring Farrah Fawcett-Majors, Charles Grodin, and Art Carney. From the estate of film producer Elliott Kastner, whose best known credits include "The Long Goodbye" (Robert Altman, 1973), "The Missouri Breaks" (Arthur Penn, 1976), and "Heat" (Michael Mann, 1996). Jake Deker is a Miami Beach insurance investigator looking into possible insurance fraud in the death of Walter Thoren, uncovering false identities, blackmail, and organized crime. Set in Miami Beach, Florida. Tan untitled wrappers. Title page present, with credits for novelist and screenwriter Stanley Ellin. 141 leaves, with last page of text numbered 142. Xerographic duplication, rectos only. Pages Near Fine, wrapper Near Fine, bound with two flat metal brads.
