Original black cloth with lettering and pictorial decoration (Edwardian couple playing) in red and green; Boards show some wear especially at top and bottom of the spine. The book is tight and clean though dusty with some reading wear and a fading ownership name on front pastedown. See scans.

Assumed 1st ed, undated circa 1910, in just about good condition. Black buckram with pictorial design of Billiards game to front cover. Covers are marked and rubbed to the corners. End papers slightly grubby but without ownership details. With sporadic foxing marks to the text otherwise clean. The bottom fore edge corner of p.89 is missing but this doesn't affect the text. Illustrated with black and white photographs and diagrams. Advertisements to front and rear.
