Using the pen name BB, Denys Watkins-Pitchford liked using a different name as the author and illustrator of his books even though they are one and the same. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.

Matt pictorial paper-covered boards. Ex-library copy with numerous faults. Inner hinges taped, edges very dusty, usual stamps - a complete copy in tidy price-clipped dust-wrapper. "The courageous Bill Badger and his friend Izzybizzy, the hedgehog, decide on a holiday in their famous barge, the Wandering Wind. They set off to see the famous Plynnlynn Aqueduct which carries the canal high across a valley. No one expected any more trouble from Big Ginger and his pirate gang, but somehow these villains have managed to acquire a secret weapon which is a great danger to all law-abiding canal travellers." One of the few accounts in children's literature of u-boat warfare on the Welsh canals. A minor classic. The second edition, published in 1983 by Methuen Children's Books, was re-titled Bill Badger and the Secret Weapon. .

Boards exceptionally bright and clean. No inscriptions. Very light foxing to the top edge otherwise a near fine copy. The dustwrapper is a lovely, bright and clean near fine example with no chips with just a tiny bit of creasing at the head of the spine and the lightest of rubbing to the corners.
