Neat, clean, well bound pages with very minimal foxing, tanning and thumbing. Small inscriptions and neat labels may be present. Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some light marking and sunning.

Occasional thumb marks to pages edges. Binding has remained firm. Boards have slight shelf wear with bumping to corners. Spine ends are a little crushed. Light wear to clipped dust jacket with tears, nicks and creases to spine, edge and corners. Light tanning to spine and edges.

Jacket has small tears and chips. It has a larger chip at foot of spine-slightly bigger than a dime. The lower edge has been nibbled as has the the crease along the front flap. Lower edge of jacket has been damp and some red has bled through. In spite of all that, it looks pretty good in new clear protective jacket. Book club edition stated on jacket. Children's Illustrated.
