Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. 5 vols. 152; 122; 120; 141; 125pp. Sewn in illustrated wraps. Toning to textblock of Vol 2., else all very good with light wear and occasional corner creasing. Complete run of this little mag of poetry and literature, founded in response to the suppression for reasons of "obscenity" of The Chicago Review's Winter 1958 issue. Though the first issue of Big Table was impounded by the US Post Office, a lawsuit proved unsuccessful and publication continued. Initially focused on the Beat tradition, by the end of its run Big Table had expanded to include work from New York School and Black Mountain writers, as well as continental literature in translation. Contributors include Kerouac, Burroughs, Corso, Ginsberg, Bowles, Ferlinghetti, Breton, Artaud, Duncan, Ashbery, Orlovsky, Creeley, O'Hara, Berkson, et al. First issue co-edited by Irving Rosenthal and Paul Carroll; subsequent issues edited by Paul Carroll.
