Condition: FINE. First printing, a trade paperback original. The First Line is a quarterly journal based in Plano, Texas and founded in 1999 by David LaBounty, Robin LaBounty, and Jeff Adams. Designed to help jump-start the imagination the premise of the magazine is simple: each story in an issue begins with the same first line. This is the second anthology of stories from the journal - 23 stories, one from each issue from Spring 2002 (the first perfectbound issue) to Winter 2006. SIGNED by Mary Robinette Kowal (with the words "Happy Worldcon 2008") at her story, a Sherlock Holmes pastiche, "The Shocking Affair of the Dutch Steamship Friesland."
