Slipcased Set. Condition: Excellent for Age. First Edition. This a collection of technical journals and is packaged with a paperback copy of The Mathematical Theory of Commuication in a pocket on the front of the paper "slip case". This set includes volumes 1-4 from 1948 for the months January, April, July and October. Volumes 3 and 4 are most notable as the first and second appearance of "a Mathematical Theory of Communication" by C.E Shannon/ Claude Shannon the "father of information theory". The volumes of the journals are first edition, but the seperate copy of "The Mathematical Theory of Communication" is a re-print. The journal volumes are in excellent condition outside some signs of aging (namely yellowing of the pages). The paper "slip case" is more like a French wrap and is in excellent condition with only some minor edgewear and very little signs of age. The copy of "The Mathematical Theory of Communication" is in good condition with some foxing and yellowing on the cover and yellowing on the pages. Overall, this set might be a one-of=a-kind! Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Edition.
