Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. First edition. A near fine copy. Quarto. [24]pp. Stapled tan pictorial wrappers. Illustrated reproducing black-and-white photographs of honorees. Modest age-toning else near fine. The Before Columbus Foundation based in Berkeley, California was founded in 1976; dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of contemporary American multicultural literature. This program prints biographical essays, reproduce photographic portraits of the honorees, with brief excerpts from their work. The honorees include: Ai (printing one of her poems), Anna Castillo, Etheridge Knight (printing one of his poems),Terry McMillan, Charles Blockson (winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award), Juan Felipe Herrara, and James Welch.
