Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Bayonets: from Janzen's Notebook; Jerry L. Janzen; self-published, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 1987. From the back cover - Jerry Jansen is a Consulting Industrial Engineer who has collected bayonets for over 15 years. His collection of over 1000 pieces is one of the largest in the United States and includes many examples not previously catalogued. This is his first book on the subject. From the introduction This book has several objectives, including the documentation of my collection, presentation of the information I have accumulated, and finally, the compilation of a reasonably complete, inexpensive book for the novice collector, partial collector, and bayonet-related collector. This effort is in no way a definitive reference work, and in fact, contains only the information which I feel is of interest to my audience. References are included with each bayonet which, coupled with the detailed bibliography, will allow the serious collector to locate all published data on any given piece or country. The book is organized by country, with the pieces arranged more or less chronologically by date. This large format softcover book, 252 pages is in near-fine condition. The covers are very good, and the interior text block and drawings are in fine condition. Text on the left and drawings on the right. The book was re-published in 1991 in a hard-covered version. A very scarce book.
